Spring Into Action
We welcome spring when days are longer, and temperatures are getting warmer. It’s the perfect time to explore and enjoy the variety of activities St. Louis and surrounding areas have to offer. Remember from my previous blogs, when you’re having fun, it doesn’t feel like exercise. Visit some of these local favorites this spring.
Purina Farms Gray Summit, MO
Purina Farms 500 William Danforth Way is more than 300 acres of rolling hills outside of St. Louis. They celebrate the many ways animals enrich our lives by providing opportunities to interact and observe them. Enjoy live canine performances, wagon rides and more. Schedule a party for your child or pup. The farm opens in mid-April. Check out their event calendar here.
Mercy Conference and Retreat Center St. Louis, MO
The center is located at 2039 N Geyer Road on 72 beautifully maintained acres. It includes a walking path and a labyrinth, one of 11 in the St. Louis area. I never knew this existed in our back yard. It’s a peaceful, tranquil place where you can explore the path for deep thought, meditation, movement or inspiration. Learn more here.
Grant’s Farm St. Louis, MO
Grant’s Farm 10501 Gravois Road encompasses 273 acres. It is a home for more than 900 animals, both large and small. Spring at Grant’s Farm is about new life and new blooms. Starting in mid-March it opens for general admission on select days. Check out all the fun events, like the upcoming Easter Bunny brunch.
Top Golf St. Louis, MO
Do you enjoy golf, or have you ever played? Top Golf 3201 Chouteau or 16851 N Outer 40 Road is a place where everyone can play and enjoy, even if it’s the first time. It’s a popular venue for group or family outings. There are climate-controlled hitting bays. You can bring your own clubs or use their complimentary clubs. Best of all, it’s just plain fun exercise hitting golf balls.
Keep in mind, it’s all about that first step out the door. When you’re among nature enjoying animals, beautiful plants and flowers or practicing your golf swing, the benefits of moving are a bonus. Happy Spring!!!
